Quick question. When the BC125AT is in Weather Alert Priority mode and receives a tone, will it go back to normal scanning once the NOAA alert is done or will it stay locked on the the NOAA frequency until you hit scan again?
I have no idea for sure, I have yet to be able to use Weather Alert yet. I would think it operates the same way a NOAA weather radio does, when the last three "ERRTS" are sent, they are telling the device to mute. If its only set on priority, I would think that it would go back to scanning. Can someone elaborate for sure? Thanks
All I need to know is if it resumes scanning after the alert. I would prefer not to have to hit "scan" after every alert. I know most devices that do this will stay on the NOAA channel until you physically acknowledge it.

Hello,
I know that i am comparing apples and oranges here but on my BC346XT the radio will detect the tone and stay on the NWS channel until you hit scan. There is no 5 min timer like on my wether radios, and it will not listen for the tones at the end and go back into the previous mode. Hope this helps.
Thank you Andy. Although it's a different radio, the features are probably similar. I was hoping the scanner would automatically resume scanning but since it's not mentioned in the manual, I doubt it is.
Glad for your response, Andy. Jsn, as long as you're sitting next to the scanner or having running during the day, it should be okay to not mute. The only time the mute comes in handy is on the regular weather radios go off in the middle of the night. Mine did in another room once, and it was pretty creepy, but I didn't have to get up to go shut it off At least thats what mine does, some folks say certain models don't pick up the mute bursts and keep right on yapping
Glad for your response, Andy. Jsn, I'm sorry to hear its not what you were hoping for. I had a weather radio once that didn't automatically silence when it went off. In the middle of the night I had to go in the other room after an alert and shut it up. Maybe thats something that can go under a thread here called "What do you want in the next Uniden" if its still open, that is. Good luck and maybe you will be able to get one and test it out this summer!
