BC246 and 800MHz

Can anyone compare the sensitivity on the 246 and the Pro-95 for the 800MHz band? I have a 95 right now, but want to know if the 246 will be more sensitive on that band.

For me personally i think that it is more sensative and it gives me alot clearer reception on the 800mhz that my pro 96. i havnt compared it to my 95 yes as my main radio is my 96... however, aside from the digital aspect, the 246 is quickly becoming my radio of choice

baddandy how does it do on the police/fire frequencies not in 800?

For the VHF-Hi, i think that it does very well, once again i belevie that it may be better than my 96. However in UHF on a 460.375 freq, my 96 does better, but overall, it is really bringing in the signals. Especially for my local PD on 159.xxxx.

For what it is worth... on my Pro-95 with the RS 800MHz duck I cannot hear the local airport ATIS. With the same antenna on the 246T, I can hear ATIS with almost no static.

800MHz on the 246T seems better than my Pro-95 using the same antenna. BTW, I didn't know how much the stock Pro-95 antenna sucked until I purchased the 800MHz duck. It was well worth the $15.

In my area, the Pro-96 is 'slighty' better across all bands, but it depends on location, even within the same room sometimes, the reception changes....
