bc246 usb problems

I recently bought the bc246t and arc246 software combo. I have not been able to talk to the scanner using the software. I installed the pl2303 driver and have still have had no success.
anyone out there have any ideas.

issue #2 is that i have a software spectrum analyzer for my laptop and feel that i will the same problem as soon as i find a rf to usb interface. has anyone heard of such an interface.
any help on either of these two items will be appreciated.
needless to say that my laptop has only usb ports.

What type of USB converter cable are you using?

The PL2303 driver is for the original Uniden USB1 cable, if you use a different USB cable you must use the driver that came with the USB cable or check the manufacturers website for the latest up to date driver.

factory cable

i am using the factory supplied cable. however i did have to buy a 12in rs-232 to usb adaptor cable to attach to the factory cable. could this be a problem?

You need to use the driver for the USB-232 converter that you have.

You can use converter cables but you must install the driver that came with that cable you purchased or check the manufacturers website for the latest driver.

I got a new cable and driver software from Radio Shack today. Will install tonight and try to program.
