BC246T and PL tones

I have a few conventional systems set up for Ham, Cabs, and NCSHP. Is there
a way that I can set my Uniden 246T to tell me what the PL tones are?

If you could please tell the steps and what I will see after I have set it to
show the PL's

Also, I have lot of these programed in. Will it just display the PL or will it just show my already
entered Alpha Tag.

if you are using the UASD software just selct "SEARCH" in the tone settings section

it will not log the tones, but it will display them on the screen when it detect a transmission
If I remeber correctly it will alternate between your alpha tag and the PL

Yeah,
I'm using the ARC246T software and I'm not sure it will do that.

in ARC246 just click in the CTSS/DCS box and then click on the drop down box on the left side above the group #'s
search is the 1st option

By the way... will this " Display " the tones so I can log them or at least write them down.
I would like to share my findings.

it will display them, but only for a few seconds so you have to be quick (I wish it could log them somewhere like the close calls do)

If you can cannect the scanner to a pc, you can log the captured PL tones/DCS codes with this freeware program. It will also log talkgroup hits on TRS systems, and record audio on either. The 396 version of the software works for either the 396 or 330.

Thanks guys...... I see what you mean about the PL's popping up on the screen.

Also I may have to take a look at that free software, looks interesting.
