1) Enhances the tone setting so that turning off the key beep only
turns off the key beep. Other user-settable alerts (Close Call alert,
for example) will continue to sound even when key beep is turned off.

2) Enhances ID Lockout when the ID is not stored in a channel:
Pressing L/O while holding on an unstored ID in ID Search mode will
now add the ID to the ID lockout list.

3) It will improve scanning for EDACS and LTR systems to address issues
discussed on the BC246T Yahoo board.

4) Improves CTCSS/DCS Lockout operation (as also discussed on the
Yahoo board).

Am I going to be able to do this upgrade with the cable, or do you have to send it to the factory?

Most people will be able to do it themselves using the cable that came with the scanner and the loader Uniden will supply.

What about the problems with trunktracking Motorola systems (i.e. missing the start of transmissions on a consistant basis)?

Never heard of it. Sure you're not confusing this with the EDACS issue of the same symptoms?

No definatley Motorola. It was discussed at length on the Yahoo groups.

Basically, in control channel only mode the scanner misses the first second or so of about 80% of trunked transmissions. This was verified by comparing it to a UBC3300XLT.

The system being monitored is a 410-420MHz Smartzone (Omni-Link) system with 3 sets of bases/offsets.
