I need help setting up a BC 246 T. I have what came in the box. ( IE, cable, beltclip, and etc. ) I do not own software. I am trying to set up my scanner for a MOT II trunking system.

I am extremely frustrated and find myself listing to my ham radio as being more benifical cause I can listen to State Troopers and Local PD's ( not full converstation of PD's. ) because of dual freq. Rx

Where do I start? Menu--Search and Store?

I guess I am either more of a rookie than I thought or more angry than I realize.

Thanks,
T

There is two great FREE programs to use with the BC246T. One is FreeScan and the other is bcTool. They will help you out tremendously. Also, take a look at your manual starting at pg.54.

Let's step back a bit and start from the beginning. Our wiki has an article that will get you started. (anything in blue is a link)

Scanning 101 - The RadioReference Wiki

DMA radios require a bit of thinking before you actually start programming and using them. In addition, I'd recommend you change that location you posted 'SnoCo' to something a bit more meaningful to folks - county/state will do just fine. That way folks from your neck of the woods can pitch in.
