I recently puchased the BC246T and think it is awesome..I downloded the free software to program through my computer. I have a question, does anyone else have the same problem I have where the scanner will miss the beginning of the conversations this happens when I am in scan mode listening to Toronto Police Any tips on this scanner as I am learning new things every day.
Thanks

Hey Hammer

I don't have that scanner so I can't tell you any tricks haha. As for scanning the Toronto system, you may be missing conversations because there is so much happening on that system. Why don't you try this, when it stops on a ID number, press your hold button so it stays on that ID.
Then see if you still missing the conversations.

Hope that helps

Hammer, I have the same scanner in the Toronto area. I ended up putting all four towers for Toronto Public Safty (emergeny) system into 4 separate systems in the BC246T. The scanner appears to only scan the 1st active control channel (which makes sense). The groups and talk groups are the same in each system. I only programed the control channels, but make sure the C-channel only option is selected for that system.

Sounds like you might be missing a frequency when you don't have C-channel only selected.

How many systems are you scanning and have got long hold times?

I have all the control frequencies in with the CONTROL ONLY ON...I think the hold time is 1 second. I listen to 55DIV 54 DIV 22DIV 51DIV 53DIV 52DIV...and the odd ETF call. I am using ARC246 software...hey here is another crazy thing I just found out, when I program all the frequencies in including the control frequencies there is very little static. When I program in the control frequencies only the seems to be quite a bit of static....???? Any ideas's

I was just in Toronto a few weeks ago getting ready to fly out for vacation. I had my 246 programmed for Toronto Public Safety and it worked just great for me. I use Arc246 as well, so if you like I could send you my system file. We flew from Toronto to Orlando and it performed just great on the Orlando TRS too.....

Sure no problem. I have to grab it off my laptop, so I'll fire it over when I get home from work tonight.

Here are 2 system files I made up for Toronto... They worked great for me while I was down that way. One is for the Motorola system, the other is conventional. I'm sure they are pretty bare bones, but they did the trick for me. I didn't do one up for the Toronto EMS EDACS system. Oh, I should also add that these system files were made with Arc246, not the Uniden software.
