I'm trying to auto-store TGIDs for a one-frequency LTR-regular system, and I keep getting an "over limit" error on the 246's display. I've searched the web in general, this site in particular, and the owner's manual all to no avail.

The system is programmed in correctly, in that it scans okay. There are 2 TGIDs in one group, and 1 TGID which I stored manually in the "Found Channels" group.

The problem happened before & after the firmware upgrade. It does the same thing on a Mot UHF system, a Mot 800 system, and an EDACS wideband system. I haven't gotten it to work on any trunked system, and I haven't tried for conventional. It does get as far as creating the "Found Channels" group, but apparently no further.

The systems I'm trying to Search & Store on are unlocked at the time I try, and the Found Channels groups in them are also unlocked. They're all scanning okay. Close Call Auto Store works fine. Overall scanner memory is about 35% full. The Srch/CloCall Opt setting for Max Auto Store is 256.

Would someone please point out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Jim

My default setting for Max Auto Store is 100, It's working on Search and store with my 4 channel regular LTR with three frequencies deleted, but maybe it has somthing to do with a single frequency system.

Send me your UASD configuration file and LTR System file and I'll take a look at it.

I couldn't get UASD running on my laptop, so I use ARC246. Files are attached, if you can read them. Thanks,

Jim

I don't see anything wrong with your files, Jim.

You say search and store will not work with any of your systems?

How about doing a backup on your Arc246 and then doing and restore. Then just add one of the Systems you normally monitor and see if it continues to be a problem. If just one system is not a problem, then add more of them and see if the problem still exists.

The Arc246 software comes with a "clear" function to clear all the memory first, you could try that also.

Let me know if that does or does not work.

Same problem when I tried what you suggested, but it began working okay when I reinitialized the scanner. I went back system-by-system and step-by-step until the problem was recreated.

As it turns out, the Max Auto Store limit is 255 and not 256 (the manual says 256). The scanner accepts 256 as a setting, but will not function when you try to use Search & Store, at least not on trunked systems. Close Call Autostore does work with the 256 setting, I haven't tried any other kinds of searches.

Glad that's ironed out! Thanks for your help, Dave.

Interesting, did you set the Close Call to 256?
My search limit was set at 100 by default.

Yup. I posted this error to 246T YahooGroup! Also effects the 396T.

I'm glad I found this thread. My 396T came set to 256, so the Over Limit message really threw me.

Does the Autostore limit apply to the number of freq/TGID stored in the Found group, or does it apply to the number of stores that will occur during any single search?
