BC246T vs. BR330T

What can the 330 do taht the 246 can't, or is it any better? I'm asking mainly to help me decide whether to wait a while and get a new scanner, or go ahead and get a 246. I'm upgrading from a BC80XLT, and I want o be sure I get something good that will be good for a few years.

The 330 has wideband recieve while the 246 doesn't. The 246 is smaller i believe too.

I've been considering purchasing either one of these scanners, and one of the significant advantages the 330T has is the extended frequency range: 100 kHz-1.3 GHz. excluding on cellular, of course. That's just one comparison...I'm sure others can add more.

There's really no comparison. The 330 is a much nicer radio than the 246. The 330 has many more features than the 246 - such as the following: wide-band receive, AM/FM radio, TV audio, Fire-tone out, better audio, scan+search, custom search+CC trunking, increased memory, backlit keypad.

The only advantages of the 246 is that it is slightly smaller and only requires 2 AA batteries. Oh, and it's slightly cheaper, of course.

Sideband on the 330 would have been nice.
But hey! We'll never be satisfied.
That's why they make new radios.

246t won't let you scan and search at the same time, nor does it have the option to trunk motorola control channels during a custom search. both of these options are provided with the 330.
