correct it's not digital.
The digital equivilent scanner is the 396T
It adds support for P25 APCO digital systems
As well as more memory and other features.
If your local system is analog stick with analog.

that sux,my local system uses digital p25 apco,Im looking for the lattest or newest uniden,you said the 396t,is that the newest or is their a newer model?what do u recomemnd?
Yes as mdulrich said the 396XT is the latest model.
If your looking to save some cash you can get a 396T used but if you want the latest greatest the XT is it.
