I have a BC248CLT clock radio scanner that scans wonderfully-- until it picks up something. Then it seems to open up the squelch completely, even if not on "auto" mode, resulting in white noise and being stuck on that frequency. Manually switching to another frequency fixes nothing; white noise everywhere (unless a unit is transmitting, of course). The only way to remedy the situation is to toggle the scanner on and off, and wait for someone else to begin transmitting, when the ordeal starts over again. Moving the unit elsewhere seeking less possible causes of interference doesn't help. Any ideas, before I torch the thing?
