I am new to the scanner world and purchased the BC250D for use in Michigan. Will this scanner work on the digital frequencies used by many of the state agencies? I am having a lot of difficulty figuring this whole thing out! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, but only with the digital chip/card that you can get where you got your scanner, which will set you back a few hundred $s.

why bother with the 250d--take it back and get a 296d--but if u must have the 250d with digital card, u will be able to trunk on 3600 baud control channel systems--but as already stated, the state of Michigan (State Police and other public safety agencies use a 9600 baud digital control channel..another words the 250d will not trunk on that system but u can conventionally scan the frequencies and pick up the digital voice---speaking from experience--get rid of the 250 and get a 296d--
