I have this scanner, and also a AOR 8200MK3 and Icom R5. It is different in many aspects to the other 2 scanners. It recieves reletively well. I found the programming to be somewhat cumbersome. I am a ham and I am new to the scanning world. I am finding that unless you have a good knowledege of trunking and how they work, the radios are hard to program unless you get someone who is technically able to help you program it. I found the Uniden tech support is great at helping, but they are hard to get on the phone (long wait times and you typically can only cover a few subjects at a time/issue) since they have so many other calls holding.

Since I got help programming the trunk freq's in it seems to be working well., but overall cumbersome to program in general. Keep in mind I also have many ham transcievers.(although they are 2 different worlds)
My 2 cents
