BC296-BC246-Files

Does anyone know if there is any software or will be any to transferr files from both BC246 and the BC296 Radios.

Possibly; it's been mentioned on the Scan Control forum that the author is working on getting their software to talk to the 246. If they keep the basic premise of their upgradable files, it is possible that at some point, files from a 296 will be upgradable to a 246. However, given the completly new memory layout of the 246, it might not be able to go the other direction, at least not directly.

It's still a couple of months away, though, so don't take this as gospel truth. It's not written in concrete - at least not yet.

Since Scancat Lite Plus now supports both the 246 and 296, it would be interesting to see how - or even if - such a migration can occur. A quick question to the Scancat Yahoo forum would be the way to go here.

Thanks Mike. it takes so long to program some of these large citys even on the computer, Its a work load of sort to do it for both scanners. my wife helps out and cuts down the time quite a bit but still whew.
