Thought I would pop in for a couple of questions. How do like your 296D?
How long do you get on a full battery charge? Does the I-Call feature work good, and does it work in all systems? Last but not least, where did you buy it, and did it cost $520?

I really like my BC296 alot it's a great scanner it does everything that I need it to do I mostly listen to our statewide 9600 baud digital system with mine.

I usually get 8-10 hours of use with a full charge the digital card drains the battery pretty good,i use a car adapter most of the time when I'm mobile..

It works good on our EDACS system and the 2 Motorola type 2 systems that I monitior,as far as 9600 digital it don't work not sure about the 3600 baud systems haven't tried that yet..

I bought mine from Communications Electronics in Ann Arbor,MI. for $512.00 and came with a free set of nice headphones, great place to buy and great service I have bought 3 scanners from them..

Hi there, i was just reading about your battery time. I was just wondering i have the pro96, i bought a set of rechargeable batteries when i first bought it, they only lasted 4 hours on a complete charge, bought at R.S. i think they are 700 Ma, the guy there sold them to me. What a joke! Since then i went out and bought some new ones 1800MA what a big difference, i get about 8 hours out of them, is that what im suppose to get or more. I think the digital aspect must drain the batteries.

Hi
The 296 came with 1500MA and with the battery save feature on I can get 8-10 hours not sure if the 96 has the feature but it does help,so you should be about right,I usually charge mine over night and for the most of that next day and I usually almost always drain the batteries completely before I charge them again seems to help, and yes the digital aspect does drain them quicker..

Thanks for the reply, my pro96 does have a battery save feature on it, but i never used it. I think you can only monitor one frequency when this is on, but im not quite sure never tried it. Is that a battery pack that came with your scanner, mine takes 4AAs, charge the 1800MA for 16 hours, charge the 700MA for about 10-12 hours.

DAN,

Is it a 4 pack or 6 pack?
Edit; I was just testing how to add an attachment.
