BC296D In San Diego

Okay, while scanning SD City channels, it only shows the frequency and not the IDs, then when i press scan again, it scans the IDs and then goes back to just getting frequencies, and not listing talk groups.

Is there a way I could keep it on scanning only talkgroups i have programmed?


I have bank 8 for SD County, and that one works exactly how I want it to. Also, Charlotte-Meck works back where I normally live.

Any ideas?

Hit the Scan key. You want it saying "SCAN", not "SEARCH".

[Edit]Oops, that's for the 396. The 296 might not work the same way.

This sounds like you are dropping the CC.

[Edit]Oops, that's for the 396. The 296 might not work the same way.

I think the 250/296 does the same.

how far are you from the system you are trying to listen to?

I'm sitting downtown. Everything is very clear, so I don't think that's the problem. It currently says "Scan" in the upper left, and pressing scan only makes it flash "ID Scan" then go back to "SCAN". It will go to my Talk Group IDs' now, but still goes to ALOT of other things that I don't really care for and arn't in my TG list.

When I press trunk, it says "ready to ID Search" goes to the ID and then flashes "NEW", then I change it back to "ready to ID Scan" and continues just looking at channels, no talk groups.
