BC296D is trunking working?

I am new to digital scanners and just purchased the BC296D scanner. At this point I am not convienced that the trunking function is working. Using the Uniden provide scanner software and an ascii import file taken from
http://www.bearcat1.com/fleetin.htm I was able to get up and running rather quickly but I am noticing that I am not hearing both sides of the conversation. That makes me think the trunking function is not working.

I live in Indiana and they use the G.E. Ericsson system. I am not sure if it's wide, narrow, or scat but I have tried all three with what appears as no luck. After spending several hours in this forum reading, I decided to purchase the ARC250 Basic software. I downloaded bank #1 and immediately noticed that the eight LCN channels were not 'trunk' enabled. Even though the bank was in the scanner interface. I enabled trunking on each LCN channel and uploaded everything back to the scanner. After doing this the only way I could get any hits was to select the 'Trunk' button and then manually switch between the LCN channels and then conversations appeared to be broken like before. I have since turned off each LCN channel for 'trunking' and the bank is still enabled but I am not convinced I have everything setup correctly.

If anyone is an expert with this scanner I would really appreciate some advice.

No kidding , that ascii file is horribly inaccurate and out of date. No
wonder you are receiving missing tx's.Your scanner is doing the best job with the info it was given.

I can assure you the 296 trunks perfectly (and I don't even own one) Do as mciupa suggests and provide the proper information to the scanner before you give up on it by using the information on RR. bearcat1.com is a joke.

I used the reference mciupa pointed me to and everything is working now. I think I will write a beginner's guide to the 296D and post it on this forum. Just the down and dirty, how do I do it and nothing more.
