Bc296d problem

I have a Uniden BC296D handheld scanner. Great radio, however lately the radio will stop scanning channels that is scanned quickly in the past and scan so slowly it's unreal. I haven't changed any of the settings to make it do this. Unplugging the battery and letting the radio sit for a few days has corrected the problem in the past. However, this last time that fix hasn't worked. Have any of you folks experienced similar problems and do you have a fix for it?

Is it stopping on a specific channel and not returning to scan mode? And if so is it on a Motorola trunk system?

Sometimes it locks onto a channel and stops scanning, but most of the time it just scans extremely slow. It's does the same thing on conventional and Motorola trunked systems.
