Morning all,
New member though I've been looking through this web site for some time and have probably spent way too many hours here but it's been educational. I've been listening to scanners for many years, ever since I got in the news business at age 17. Not doing that anymore but still have a small listening post at home which keeps me up to date on certain things.
Recently while traveling I had occasion to stop in at a Radio Shack for some help with a cranky I-Phone. Gotta say, the guy in RS did in 5 minutes what the guy at the Verizon store next door couldn't. In any case while I was there I took a look at the scanner selection and noticed a BC346 XT on clearance for $44 so I snatched it up without knowing much about it. Got it home and it's been a paper weight ever since. No written instructions which I gather is standard and a CD that didn't help much either. Most of our radio systems in the three counties I monitor are still analog and I have all of that covered. There is one city system, Opelika AL, that is all digital and apparently has recently rebanded. I understand the 346 is no help there. I like it though and would like to at least program it for the area analog systems and if I find any trunked analog systems I guess I can use it for that. Where can I find useable instructions for this scanner? I've googled it and not found much. It's certainly not an intuitive system. If anyone can point me in the right directio I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Otis
