Good evening,

I think I already know the answer to my question but I am going to ask just to make sure. I recently bought a BC355C scanner and I know that the FCC narrowbanding deadline is fast approaching (our station recently updated our pagers). So here is my question. Is my scanner basically compatible with narrowbanding? I know that the BC355N is, so I am thinking that mine probably is not, but I want to make sure before I try to look for something that is.

Thank you

Jim

You will still be able to monitor narrowband channels but:

1) The audio will be lower than properly demodulated channels; and
2) You will not be able to precisely tune to the newly allocated frequencies, but should still be able to receive them (albeit not optimally and at a lower audio level than properly tuned/demodulated channels).
