My BC365CRS has recently been stopping on my town's primary fire dispatch frequency (424.125) with audio that sounds like a data transmission. Other scanners that I have with the same frequency programmed do not receive this audio. Can I assume this is a "birdie"? Is there anything that can be done to prevent it.

Could they have switched to a digital mode? If it was working well before, and now it's stopping on a "data transmission," they could have switched to DMR or P25 on the same frequency. License data doesn't always reflect reality. And your 365 can't decode any of the digital modes.
I'd suggest you check with your state subforum...maybe someone there knows if they've gone digital, or anything else that may be going on with that agency.

They are licensed for P25 digital on that frequency.
