BC396XT on startup says its a BC246t

Title says it all... when I startup my 396XT it says its a 246t is this a problem?

Firmware version is 1.08.14

did you use a butel file from a bc246t? the "splash" screen can be changed using either butel or freescan software. Seems like that is your issue. Not a major issue (as long as it is acting like a 396xt).

I transfered many files from my 246t to the XT using freescan, thats the issue i bet.

I just did the same thing tonight... I had 4 scanners that "splashed" as a 996t... all programmed the same, (2) 396xt's, (1) 996xt and (1) 996t.

I now know for the future.

That is it. I have a splash screen with my name and address. You can put anything you want in there.
