Not sure what to call this little device… It’s the flimsy aluminum slide/flap that locks the SD card in place.

I was simply removing the disk, as I have plenty of times, and it just popped right out.

Does anyone know how to place it back in? It forever be in your debt if you could post photos too.

I’ve enjoyed this radio for quite a while… but not long enough this piece should fail. I scratched my head the first time I saw this part and knew it might be an issue at some point, however, I’m disappointed with Uniden’s choice of parts often.

I believe the card holder will pop right back in if it hasn't been bent. So don’t panic. Take your time familurzing yourself with how the contacts on the SD card line up with the contacts on the radio while the card is in the holder. That will orient the holder in the correct position (not upside down) and tell you where to look for the attachment points.

They're kind of hard to see, but if you save to PC first, you can zoom in pretty good. Hope it helps!Screenshot 2024-03-04 192358.pngScreenshot 2024-03-04 192258.pngScreenshot 2024-03-04 192325.png

Thanks you guys! Huge help.

I thought I’d done a thorough search.

With that flimsy part… I knew I couldn’t be alone.

Haha, as has been said, you are certainly not alone. Once I got it fixed and back in place I never took it out again, I always program 436 and 100 with the cable, the 536 and the 200 I just remove the card and bring it to the computer.😉

Uniden must have had a surplus of these antiquated card holders. What they SHOULD have done was incorporate the spring loaded socket that is mounted outboard on the radio case and covered it with a water resistant rubber-like cover! (I’m sure there are many who, out of embarrassment returned the scanner for repair and never said a word to anyone!)

Success!

Many thanks to all… and apologies for not doing a deeper dive on the subject.
