Ok I asked this question in one of my other threads in a different section and since I got no reply, I will ask in a seperate thread.

Another member stated he can scan for PL tones on his BC-246T.

Can my BC780XLT do the same? If so, how?

Yes, you sure can.

I'm a little rusty, as my 780 has been gone a while, but:

Go into the MENU, look for the CTCSS option, and select SEARCH. Now when you stop on a frequency the 780 will search through all tones one by one until it reaches the active CTCSS or DCS tone.

On the 246T it's a little different because the scanner instantly decodes the CTCSS or DCS tone. On the 780 you're forced to wait a while as the scanner searches through each possible tone.

Also, a shortcut on the 780 is you can press "E" while sitting on a channel and enter the CTCSS info from there.

Good luck!

This has already been asked and answered in the prior thread. Don't know why you can't see it.
