Until I get my extension speaker, is it OK to leave the scanner on it's side for better speaker clarity? Can hear everything so much better this way then it's in normal position.

Couldn't they have put the speaker on the top of the scanner???

Thank You Much

Yes, i don't see any harm in putting the scanner on it's side for sound clarity. The reason why the speaker is on the bottom is because of mobile mounting. If the scanner is mounted under the dash, then a speaker on the top would pose the same problem you have now with the speaker on the bottom. I don't know what would make better sense, speaker on top, or on bottom.

If it was a perfect world, then they would specifically make an external speaker and sell it with mobile model scanners. ( Then again, they would also sell lapel speakers with portable too lol)
