BC785 VOLUMNE KNOB: Replacement size?

Looked in the owner's manual to no avail and called their 800 number and cannot get through.

What size replacement knob do I need for my BC785 volumne control please??

Went to Radio Shack with the scanner today, employee brushed me off and said to check their replacement knob drawer. Was of no help whatsoever. None of them fit anyway....

The Uniden replacement knobs on Ebay are absurdly overpriced!!!

Mine crumbled into several pieces. Uniden parts says it's no longer available and never will be. I will cannibalize the first of my old scanners that quits working for parts for my 785.
