Hi People

I have a BC796 to monitor 1 VHF P25 Frequency for the Santa Clara S.O.. Which works great and was a
easy one button setup. But we just installed a new digital system at work and I cant get it to work on our
system. The output freq is 541.6125 and when people are talking I hold to the 9 Key and try to adjust for voice and i get nothing. What am I doing wrong ???

The VHF frequency that works is Santa Clara Sheriff Control 2 155.700 P25 and it works fine.
The UHF ffequency that does not wok is 451.6125 and is our new digital system output of the repeater. The input and output frequencies
are marked on the repeater. And it should work by pushing key 9 while someone is talking and seting the value on the screen for the best audio but it dont. Grrrrrrr so is there some other setting ??

Thanks
Dave

Nope

Im not sure would it sound the same. ? You know the buzzing you can hear if its not being decoded.
So I guess the is more than one kind of digital.

The Bc796 can only decode p25. There is a software program you can run on a Linux machine to decode other formats. Not sure what the other digital formats sound like when listening on a scanner.

Oh.... you hit hold, 9, and then PRI for it to auto tune......

what numbers is your scanner showing when you hit 9?

sometimes if my scanner is at say 399, and it needs to be 899 it will be digital "machine gunning"
