BC796d sound problems

I updated the firmware to what was on the uniden site (latest don't have unit here) sometime ago. Since then at times of the unit scanning, it will stop on a call and be really loud. At that point you can't adjust the volume on the unit. I have to turn the unit off and back on to get it to start again. And then again it will do the same thing. Seems to be on the digital side of scans. Don't remember it don't this on analog. Any way to fix this or should i go back to an earlier firmware ver.? Thanks for the time.
