I recently acquired a used BC855XLT. I will be installing a discriminator tap according to instructions that I have already located online.

My question is this - on the main circuit board the letters DIP are silk screened, with an arrow pointing to the edge of the board. This appears to mean that there is a DIP switch mounted on the reverse side of the board. Does anyone know what this switch does?

Also, is there any way to defeat the filtering at TP3 so it can be tapped there for digital decoding? Soldering to a surface mount IC leg is quite a trick.
