BC996 vs. Pro-2096

Wouldn't it be exactly the same as the 396 vs the pro 96?

Other then the GPS integration they are the same radio.

I was hoping for more information into the finer points of the base /mobile radios. Are the bigger units really just the handheld units in larger clothing???

just do a little google hunting and you can find what you want. I do recall a thread or wiki page that had a line-by-line comparison of the 2 scanners but I can't seem to locate it. It had what features were unique to each scanner and the BCD996 easily doubled the 2096 in the list

And I agree, other than the extra stuff on the 996 vs 396 there isn't a lot of difference in comparing the 996 to the 2096 as there is comparing the 396 to the 96 (which is a sticky thread already.)
