There is a thread in the Uniden forum about changing a setting to make it better. I've not monitored KSP, but it made it worse on the systems I do monitor until I made the change, now slightly better.

Both of my 996s and my 396 are running ok.

Finally had the chance to do some fiddling with the 396 (I know, this was a 996 thread in the beginning). KSP, the Federal Medical Center and VA Medical Center all come in well with a P25 wait time of 300ms and a Manual setting of 7... This brings in the distant and local towers on KSP with little or no motorboating on the distant towers (remember I monitor mobile so I have towers from six different KSP Posts in my radio)... still trying to find the best number for KU....
