Has anyone heard when the rebanding flash will be available for the 296? I have a 396 in use for the 700mhz systems,but it would be nice to be able to have the 296 reflased or whatever term they use that enables the 700mhz. thanks,hank

The 296 will not be able to monitor 700Mhz. It's receiver was not created to cover that range. When a rebanding reflash becomes available, it will only be for the 800Mhz trunking plan.

It's important to keep in mind that the much talked about migration to 700 mhz has nothing to do with the upcoming 800 Mhz rebanding. The two are completely seperate issues; it's an urban myth that the two are related. 73s Mike

Wow, that really sinks my ship,I thought the 296 could be reprogrammed for 700 freqs. Well now I have a better understanding of rebanding,reflashing. Thanks for the info, hank
