Hello all. Happy memorial Day. Dusted off my old BC296D. Programmed just fine- however, I cannot get the hissing to stop. A week ago or so, I was able to follow instructions on how to set squelch-and again worked fine. I did have to do a hard reset a couple of times- since then, the squelch wont silence the background hiss. which prevents the unit from scanning. Anybody have any ideas??
