BCD 396 won't display Alpha Tags anymore. How do I fix it?

I don't know how this started but my scanner now only displays the frequency for convention channels and TalkGroup ID for P25 channels. All the Alpha tags are sill there when I go to program, they just won't display while scanning. Anyone know how to get them back? or why they went away? I've been trying to figure this out for days and it's now annoying me that I haven't fixed it.

1) Press 'hold' and stop on a memory channel, doesn't matter which one.
2) Press and hold 'Function' button then the '5' button, this will set it back to alpha tags.
3) Press 'hold' to resume scanning
