BCD-396T / CC-Search Mode.

I learned something 'interesting' about the Control Channel search mode. I took my radio to Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA. When I go to a new area, I always check out the CC-search mode and see what comes up.

While doing a 900MHz search, it found:
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=3520
...but identified it as:
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=421

So it looks like the radio only looks at the SysID and not the band it is searching. I present this as a 'learning opportunity' and perhaps a feature request / enhancement for a future firmware update or the 996.

One of those System IDs is incorrect. System IDs are assigned on a per customer basis and used by Motorola to identify the system in their database. When calling for support you give them this.

So I guess the McGuire system id is wrong. I don't see where anyone submitted that system id so an admin must have added it manually.

The McGuire AFB System ID is correct, I live in range of the system.

I'm positive. This rarely happens. Considering one of the systems is an old business CMRS system it probably has something to do with it. The SysID was probably reassigned.

As in one that was purchased by NexTel who may have sold the system controller to the new system owners?
