BCD 396T or BCD 996T

Is there any difference between these two scanners other than one is a hand held and the other one is a base scanner. Which one would you buy?

If you'll be doing a lot of mobile monitoring especially of fleetnet the multi site tracking could be of benefit on the 996.

For great portability the 396 is the way to go. Really depends how you're thinking of using it as to which is truly better. The 996 being the latest release of technology.

I'd buy the 396 simply cause I like to carry a scanner with me.
The 396 is tiny and does so much.
