I was wondering if anyone could tell me the power draw of the AC adapter for these I attempted to figure it out and got 25W as the watt draw which does not seem right.

Should be more like 2.5 watts.

I place a 396 and a 6V Radio Shack adapter into a P3 International "Kill-A-Watt" meter just for fun.

Without batteries, the most current draw I could obtain with the volume all the way up, was only 1 watt.

With batteries installed and charging, that value went up to 3 watts.

DC watts at the radio jack, or AC watts at the outlet (before the Uniden AC/DC adapter)?

Seems really really high. I have to wait until I get home to test mine.

Here's what I measure for AC current with the stock Uniden power adapter:
3.8mA Not connected to radio
38.5mA "Normal Charging"
44 to 48mA Scanning & receiving, backlight on, mid-volume.
I measure 110v AC at this outlet.

So what is that -- 5 Watts?
