I have my BC 536 permanently installed in my 2017 Buick. Though its powered constantly this car has an auto shut off feature that can’t be disabled. When that kicks in the radio reboots. I’m wondering if I used the wrong power cord. I’m not using the 3 wire cord. I’m thinking that might be the issue. Anybody else having this issue??

What is the wiring connected to for power?

I power things through either a cigarette lighter or "power point" outlet in my 2008 F150 truck and they seem to have constant power. However, I've found newer vehicles (rentals and others including my wife's 2013 Ford Edge) to have more "safety" features that cause things that drain the battery to automatically shut off after a while - including USB ports and outlets.

You'll probably need to find a source that is directly tied to the battery (or tie directly to the battery yourself). However, this may not solve all of your problems either. If the voltage drops (i.e. when starting the vehicle), the radio is still likely to reboot.

The BCD536 is VERY sensitive to fluctuations in 12V power from the vehicle.... such as when you start the vehicle. Mine (and apparently many others) does it, and it's wired directly to the battery. I just be certain I shut it off before I restart the car. Here's a thread that found a solution... and there are others that will ensure the 536 gets a smooth power source -

Or install a 436 instead. The only feature you give up is Wi-Fi streaming, and you get a built-in battery backup. RF performance is identical.

Put the 536 in the house.

I had the same problem and coorrected it with:

DROK® DC-DC Buck Boost Converter 5V-25V to 0.5-25V 2A High Efficiency Voltage Regulator 5V 12V Variable Volt Power Supply Stabilizers with Red LED

Works great!

Cost on Amizon 15.49
