BCD 536 scans but stops receiving ramdomly

Have had 536 for several years and have noticed that at times I hear nothing but scanner is still scanning and everything looks normal. If I turn off the unit then power back up operation returns to normal. I only scan about 10 talk groups on 700 p25 and they are not very busy so the unit can be down for a day before I notice the problem. I talked to another 536 owner and he said he had the exact same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Does it still stop on the control channel on each site or does it scan right past it? Or is it conventional P25?

Check that you do not have the Digital Threshold set to auto as my experiance are that whenever there's a problem with the signal the auto function sets the threshold so far off that it stops to decode. I would guess that the auto value are reset to default when you power the scanner off/on. Check what the auto has set the value to when it is working correctly, push Fn+Vol to display, and set that in the manual threshold mode.
