Greetings all,
Currently I have the Uniden BCD996xt. I can't hear a lot of broadcast because of the Phase II.
Just wonder is the BCD996p2 worth upgrading to?

I too own a 996XT and upgraded to the 996P2.

It works great!

I have both as well. No phase 2 here, but love the 996P2. Worth the upgrade.

The bonus is that you can use the same programming file in both models.

If the Phase 2 you're trying to monitor is simulcast, might want to look at the SDS 200.

Agreed. Although there are workarounds mentioned in this wiki, results do vary & not everyone has success. Although they may not be within everyone's budget range, the SDS series scanners are definitely the way to go to conquer simulcast distortion
