BCD325P2/BCD996P2: BCD-996p2 frequency counter mode?

I had a 996xt and it had an easter egg for the frequency counter mode.I have found many power+ button toys except for the frequency counter mode.Anyone find a way yet?

That's odd since the two radios are nearly identical.

I tried it on my 396xt and the scanner went directly to a 'modified' type of close call mode. Different bands could be accessed by turning the control knob on top of the scanner. All buttons were deactivated during the process except for the on/off button. FYI

Yeppers thats it ,so it works on the 396xt too.
I liked that little hidden feature
