Was wondering if NAC decode/encode was a possibility on the 996T via a firmware upgrade?

That would be really nice to have, however with Uniden marketing the new BCD396XT as having NAC decoding.....they might not want to back-port that feature to earlier models. It is a great feature to have and I use it quite often on my PSR-600 & Pro-106.

Yeah I know its offered on the new 396XT but they haven't mentioned a 996XT yet. I was wondering if it was even possible through a firmware upgrade.
I can live without it but it would be useful for monitoring the VHF federal band to help with interference and identifying agencies.

In my opinion it probably wont happen via a firmware upgrade.
I guess we will see a 996XT released about a year after the 396xt (same as it happened with the 396/996 release dates)

id pretty much say 90% it WONT happen.
Uniden will release the 996XT with NAC, or go with the 396XT or one of the GRE models.
