We just bought the Uniden BCD325P2

I have been watching youtube videos on how to setup the frequency. However there is a problem I keep having.

I updated the firmware .. just to be sure it wasn't that.

I followed it all the way up to putting in Frequency, but my freq is longer then it is accepting?

155.58000 is the frequencey, it will only take 155.5800 its not workinng. The last 0 appears to be cut off, I've tried to go in there and edit it.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? This is driving me nuts!

Trailing zeroes are irrelevant. 155.58 is all you actually need.

Okay then that's not the problem. I just put in 155.58 and I'm still getting dead air. Any other idea's? The ID Search isn't coming up with our CTY tag so I don't think it's picking it up.

open your menu>scroll down to >weather scan>press your vol knob down let the unit scan the weather channels...that will tell us if the unit has a good or bad receiver.

Are you programming the unit by hand, or using the Free FreeSCAN program?

Merry Christmas

I'm following the Youtube video, I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. I looked at that free scan program but I didn't use it because it didn't say it was compatible with the 325

ID Search is associated with Trunking systems. Did you create a Conventional system?

Reception range is limited with a handheld. If you're programming a frequency for another city or county, you probably won't pick it up, even if you're doing everything right. You may not always get good reception for a local frequency, depending on where you live and the location of the transmitter tower(s).

I am trying to create a conventional system, however the is 540, on the freescanner software, 540 isn't even a option. So what the heck do I put in for that?

http://prntscr.com/hs7yf1

I'm doing it for the city I live in, I would think I can it .. the sheriff center is probably 5 minutes from our house.

Where did you get 540 from? I would keep the Tone set to Search. Later after it works, change the Tone to the CTCSS if any.

Okay I just exported my settings from freescanner.

Is this right? https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ovjamz8ixs4zq9/Scanner Settings.996?dl=0

Download it, then import it in freescanner

If this is, then something else is wrong. We are still getting white noise, 5 miles is 1 tower, the other is 20 miles. I'm 4 miles from these towers, so I should be getting something.

It looks okay to me. I see the channel in Question is assigned SQK (System Quick Key) 1 and GQK(Group Quick Key) 1 if that's the way you want it setup. Check the scanner display to see if SQK 1 is shown and doesn't show an asterisk. Also check the GQK.
