BCD396T Close Call Question

I have read all the Close Call posts, signal must be 15db above noise floor before activating. It seems my 396T is almost dead when in CC mode. With a 1 watt HT on VHF or UHF I must be within 15 feet of the radio for CC to work. Lowering the threshold another 6db would make this feature more useful while not triggering on all services that are miles away. I see no mention of being able to adjust this threshold? Is this very short range on CC normal?

My experience with CC is that you have to be close to the source for it to go off. I can't give you exact figures for activation, and like you I wish it was more sensitive.
