Hi..

Next to the signal strength meter on the right I would often see a number, 3.84 or something like that. Have not seen that number for a while. Never did know what the number did stand for neither know how to get it back.

Did dig into the manual but but could not not find any clues. Anybodhy has some more info about this number?

thanks...

That number displays when you push the volume knob down to change the volume, or if the keyboard lock is on and you turn the knob to change the volume. It shows the voltage of your batteries! Fully charged would be 4.00 or more, and the low battery alarm will start sounding at about 3.50 volts. Quite a valuable tool to give you an idea how much battery life is left.

Handy indeed, just did toss in some new batteries to test it out. 4.11 was the reading, will also help me to see the condition of my batteries in general, they do go dead at one point.

Thanks!

In general I think people reported the scanner goes dead around 3.50 and says battery low around 3.55

4.11 is quite high are you using alkalines or rechargeables (if so which rechargables)

Mine dies at 3.40, battery low at 3.50, and the maximum voltage i've had it at is 4.20 on Duracell rechargables (2650Mah).

If I am not mistaken, this is the battery power of the scanner. If you press the knob on top once, this number should appear. Just checked, and mine still shows the battery status when this is pressed.
