i use rr and proscan to program my bcd396t the talk group names are in there but dont always display the name it will show the talk group id# why does it do this? is there a setting or what

it changes the scanner from displaying the frequency or the tag name, this is information that is in the scanner manual Page 48, if you do not have a manual do a search with google and it will find the manual so you can download it.

You say it doesn't always show the name tag. Are you in the search mode ? if so it will show some ID's you may not have entered. If that's the case change to the scan ID mode and it will only show name tags that you have entered.
