hey there, i was experimenting around programming some LTR systems into my BCD396T for this state (WI), after i got the system set up i set it into hold mode on one of the TGID`s i`d entered, and the scanner displayed "finding control chan." My question is, if there`s no control channel in an LTR system, why does it display that message? Kinda curious and would like to know for feuture reference when i try programming these systems later on. Thanks. N9NRA

LTR is a trunking system, and it does have information transmitted.
What is is doing is looking for the sub-audible information when a repeater is keyed up to know whether
or not the talkgroup ID is the one you are holding on.
This is the only time LTR systems transmit this information unlike Motorola's control channels that are
dedicated and assign talkgroups to other frequencies.

Hey thanks! I was wondering if i was doing something wrong, because it was displaying that. So that message is just kinda "generic", and is shown when it`s looking for the control data, regardless of what system type i`m monitoring? I get that. Thanks lots for the help :)! N9NRA
