BCD396T Pricing....

Was just curious, does anyone remember exactly when the BCD396T hit the stores for the first time, i am trying to decide whether i should hold out a couple months and wait for the price to drop a bit before i buy one, last year i got screwed with my 796D as about a month after i bought it dropped about $90 in price. So i think this year i will just wait it out as the prices always seem to drop a little bit in August. So ya, the first month/year that the BCD396T hit the store is what i am looking for, thanks

Well, I was getting sick of my Pro-96 and I just gave in to a 396T. I paid $529 flat with shipping (UPS Ground). Knowing my luck, the price will drop the day it arrives. Oh well...its worth it, the 396T is a lot nicer!

june 28,2005 was the date i beleive.

$529.95 seems to be the average for the 396

just curious, where did you buy your 796? a drop of $90 sounds like it was over priced to begin with

Are you looking for Canadian pricing? I paid $799 CDN bought mine August 4, 2005 I beleive they had been out for about a month.

Bought it from Durham Radio in Whitby Ontario and at the time, when i bought it, it was about $60 less then every other store, so it wasnt overpriced at all....then a little after i bought it it dropped that $90, but so did every other store, so it was still the same $60 cheaper then everywhere else...currently it is the same story with the BCD396T, it is about 7% cheaper, but it always seems uniden drops prices around this time of the year, so i am going to wait it out, the store carries the 996 for the same price as the 396, i just figured that the price of the 396 would drop since its been out for a year now...but i guess i will have to wait and see on that one....

i cant speak for prices in Canada, but the cost in the U.S never changes that i am aware of. it maybe the retailer is trying to move product to reduce inventory.
the only exception maybe with the br330t as it is a slow mover.
