I just go my 396 and it cuts out words even if i have a full signal. like the dispacther will dispacth a call and the scanner will cut her off too short and then come back on and she will be talking about something i did not hear. dose anyone know what i am talking about or can help me. thanks dawson!

Sounds like you may have priority on or close call....

I notice it with my close call pri on too...

Update the Scanner to latest firmware.
Then you can go into Menu
scroll down to Close Call -enter
Set CC Mode -enter
select CC DND -enter
then exit out of menu

Now it will only search Close call when there are not an active transmission is going on
