This Radio Is AWSOME!!

Im In The O.C. Calif.
I've Had it For Almost 2 Months!!
The 1st Month, The Belt Clip Broke!!
So Far..No Response From Uniden For Replacement...

After Like 2 Hours... Updated The Firmware To 3.01..

So Now... What Is Splinter?

Where Are My "Captured" Close Calls Located??

What is The Best Setting To Recieve "ENC"??

Contact @ MyViper420@yahoo.com

Thank-You Rick

Merry Christmas!!

A splinter gets stuck in your finger :) ..... but in radio terms have 12.5Khz step
look for "Found" system
ENC is encoded.... you won't find any settings for it because your not supposed to hear it = Encrypted
Broke the belt clip? I tried to break one and didn't... well the tree limbs tried at least

That's the problem with OC. All the police radio traffic is encrypted. That means you'll have to listen to other stuff.

Thank-You To All Of Those Who Replied..

Now When I Monitor A P25 Signal Like Say RED Channel, I Get Like a Dead Carrier Then A Short Data Burst Then, The Voice.

Also, I Will Like Recieve All My P25 TG's On The One TG.
What Could Be Wrong?

I Have Ver 3.01, It Like Started After Using BC Tool To Program.

Thank- You
Happy Holidays To Every One

Rick

Nothing's wrong with your settings. I too have 3.01 firmware and have found it doesn't handle weak P25 signals all that well, which your description seems to fit. If your signal is less than 1-2 bars, you might hear exactly what you are describing. While you could fiddle with your P25 levels, your better bet is a better antenna. 73 Mike

You can also change the P25 delay setting (so the scanner will spend more time evaluating the signal before opening squelch). Of course, this is at the cost of missing a bit more of the beginning of each transmission.

FWIW, I have the same thing happen on weak signals on every P25 scanner I've used (including PSR-500 and PSR-600 which I use during competitive evaluations). P25 levels won't help this kind of problem. As Mike said, better location or better antenna is the general solution.
